VITAS becomes evident 12 hours after initial exposure. Following incubation, initial symptoms include fever, chills, and vomiting. If unchecked, VITAS progress into anaphylactic shock, with an increase in histamine levels causing bronchospasms and vasodilation. Over the next two years, VITAS pandemic would killed off approximately a quarter of the world's population (based off 2002 projections of world population growth, approx. two billion dead).
